Nestled in the exclusive Naboisho Conservancy, the chic Ol Seki Hemingway’s Mara Camp is a world apart from the bustling safari roads. Located on an arrow-shaped bluff with a view of the Isupukai River lies the safari retreat. There are only a few luxurious safari tents at this hideaway, so it seems quite exclusive and exclusive. Each tent has the impression of being by itself in the wilderness because they are all set far apart. The common rooms for guests are cozy and welcoming, creating an ideal setting for reminiscing about safari experiences over a favorite beverage. The expansive vistas, dining and lounge tents with wooden floors, and large, plush couches and rockers all contribute to the relaxing atmosphere of the camp.

Views of various animals coming in from the plains for a cool drink at the camp’s exclusive watering hole are available to you while you relax in your comfortable chair in the guest area. The deck of the safari retreat is a great place to have a sundowner by the firepit at the end of the day while watching the sun set. Guests unwind for the evening under the warm glow of candles and paraffin lanterns as the African night descends and the stars come out.

Ol Seki’s infinity pool lies tucked up amongst the rocks. It features a very nice sunken seating area with a fireplace and is encircled by a stone terrace. The pool’s view of the valley enhances the enjoyment of every swim. The camp has a spa where you can have a soothing massage and a lounge tent with comfortable couches and books to read if you need some downtime and want to rest and unwind. The entire camp has wi-fi available for those times when you want to check in with the outside world. You will receive laundry service for the duration of your stay.

Ol Seki creates circular canvas safari tents that are all incredibly roomy, flooded with natural light, and tastefully furnished with tasteful vintage accents. For solitude, the twelve-sided tents are set far apart. Every single safari tent has an incredible view. Every one of them has a view of the vast plains under the camp. There are six roomy circular “Nina” tents that have a screened-in deck area outfitted with rush mats and chunky rugs, a very comfortable double or twin bed, and enough room to add a bed if needed. The attached bathroom features a dressing area, a flushing toilet, and a hot-water shower. Specifically created for families or parties, the two larger safari tents, dubbed “Chui” and “Simba,” each have two en suite bedrooms, a central living area, a private kitchen, a lounge, and a dining room. Guests in the Chui or Simba safari tents have the option of hiring a private chef for the evening for the height of luxury.

The resident chef at Ol Seki uses farm-fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create delicious, innovative international food. He will even cook you some local specialties upon request. Eating will be a pleasure if you have options and the freedom to select your meal experience. Before your early morning game drive, or when you get back, savor a delicious continental breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and eggs cooked to your preference. When you get back to the camp, you can have a three-course meal or have lunch as a picnic while you’re out and about. A delicious afternoon tea can be brought to your tent after a safari in the great outdoors, allowing you to unwind. Either in the camp or in the bush, you may savor a four-course meal outside under the stars after an exciting day of seeing wildlife in the wild.
